Well woke again to crying children – not sure why they are so upset but I think it would be the same in many childcare / kindy’s in NZ with children not wanting parents to leave! Finished my book last night – it was a great thriller by Nicci French Stayed up to watch Grey’s Anatomy – not on until 10:40! So weird it just doesn’t sound right – but the episode was the one when Meredith is drowning – so seen it and off to bed!
Off to school, got there and the professeur was sick! So free time – no relievers generally when teachers are sick! You should have seen everyones reaction!! Told to come after lunch and they may have found a professeur for us!
So off I went into town to top up my French prepay! Managed to get this done, with a bit of help from the guy in the shop! The difference is you must use it within the given time frame – in my case 3 months or it is gone!
I will be texting everyone my new number, as when Nev gets here won’t use NZ phones at all!
Home to the washing then collected the bags for supermarket – you have to take your own or buy reuseable ones if you forget – no plastic bags at all!
Back for lunch then off to class – found a reliever – Buggar! Came home, and cooked sweet and sour chicken. Wendy arrived back so could share a meal together!
A few things have been noted: Most French smoke, even the young teenagers, middle aged,everyone- it is so common, they all stand at school gate getting last one in before class – not just students either! They don’t seem to realise about their health!
On any add for Kinder surprise or chocolate seems to be a written warning that scrolls along the bottom that you/ children should be active and eat fruit and veges!
The French are dog mad – went past a beauty shop for dogs today!!! Everywhere there are stations to get doogie doo bags to keep streets free of poop!
Even on Wheel of Fortune the host has his dog with him! Hard to get used to them in restaurants and even at the airport in Paris there were many handbag dogs I even saw a handbag cat!
To top it off on the bus today a girl had her pet mouse in a tiny little clear Perspex container (with breathing holes) specially made I would say, something you would buy for your mouse!
Off on hunt for double bed tomorrow – only hitch – how do I get it here!
