Dimanche le 14 septembre

Well woke to the phone ringing – home! It is a welcome relief to talk to them all every morning.
Opened my ‘garage doors’ and it turned out to be a fine but not overly hot day, with a bit of wind!
Right washing! How to get sheets dry when we only have a little thing that hangs over your door – be creative and find somewhere to drape them!
Not as easy as it may sound! I also had all clothes to do as well. Nevertheless kiwi ingenuity paid off and I hang them over hazard tape that is warning of a pot hole!
I spent many hours writing this, emailing and downloading photos, naming them and sorting stuff out.

Have to tell you about Wheel of Fortune the other night – French TV is a bit risqué - one of the contestants brought gifts for the glamorous looking girl who turns the letters (nothing new here) and the dapper looking French male host (much better than Jason Gunn),
They were a blow up cow for him and a (careful here – kids could be reading!) J.G. women’s intimate! Well this went down well he had it in his pocket, after retrieving it from the dog – and really performed! What a hoot – can’t see that being on our TV!

A lonely week and weekend ahead for me - Sundays are meant to be a family day here, very sacred. Nothing is open, not supermarkets, shops etc. I think this is great except if you are in my situation – alone 20000km from anyone and nothing to do!
The odd patisserie, to get fresh bread and that is about it, museums are usually open and on the first Sunday of each month is free, a general rule around France! The opposite is true with nearly all museums shut on Tuesdays!

I trotted off down the block to get a baguette (French stick in NZ) for lunch and tea. Bread is cheap, 0.60, I believe the Government subsidises them.

Rugby must be on again, as cars around parking close, seems to be a Sunday thing here – not sure if training or a game. Nowhere near as big as in NZ – glad the All Blacks beat Australia last night – good on them!

Well spent the rest of the day exploring the English lessons available on the net for me to use with the 4 year olds!

Tea, reheated from the night we had Galettes!

It was really cold and couldn’t get warm – wish I had a hottie or heater! I had to put the elements on for a while just to take chill off!
