First French Language Class

mardi le 2 septembre:

Got bitten by mosquitos last night and they have left huge itchy bites, mainly on my feet – kept me awake as they were sore. Hopefully there is no malaria here!
Up we got and trotted off down the road to the CLA – arrived at 9:30 and the lady took me straight away and gave me a written test to see where I am in French, I then had a brief conversation and voila! In a class starting now! Lucky to have got in as I really wanted to do a French Language Intensive course straight away so my language could get started – otherwise I have to wait until October to get in, this makes it tricky as Nev and the girls arrive then and will have them to worry about. So all working out so far.

Class is 5 hours every day, pretty old fashioned with conjugating verbs, worksheets and language sheets on computer in a language lab.
Came home exhausted – the guy taking the class speaks French only –in the class with me are about 12 Japanese, 2 Korean, 1 Chinese, 1 Russian, 1 Greek, 1 Indian, 1 something else and 1 kiwi! So no common language except French – it is hiliarious! The tutor has to act out what words mean so we all understand. I do get homework each night – YUK!!!
By the time I catch a bus home,I get home about 6, as we all stop for lunch – 2 hours!

Tea tonight – ravioli and vegetable sauce, bread – of course – salad.
Wine to accompany: 2:50 sauvignon blanc –it is definitely true – wine is cheaper than soft drink. Yesterday the cheapest wine was 0.85 cents!!!! Not sure if I want to try?

Homework time - must fly!
