Lundi 16-vendredi 20 fevrier

Snowballs at the window!

The school playground!

Another week of normality – only this week to go and holidays!!! Tuesday – Woke up to quite a bit of snow – as usual no buses run when this happens so on goes the snowboots to plod my way up to the Lycee – still heavily snowing – it took about 30 minutes and by the time I got there I was wet even though I had an umbrella!
Walking to the Lycee - early morning!

On Wednesday I headed into town to collect tickets for Morocco next week. Amazingly they couldn’t tell me the time of the return flight yet however I finally had times the plane leaves. Off I went to the train office –SNCF to get the tickets to get to Lyon. Have to leave the day before because the plane leaves at 6:00am – meaning have to be at the airport at 4:00am!!!! Hardly worth getting accommodation in Lyon really. Not sure yet how will get to the airport as I bet there are no public services at this hour! One bonus is that we are in Agadir by 9:00am so we are not wasting a day getting there, I almost hope the same is true for leaving that it is a late flight.
I have been looking at the weather in Agadir – it is in the low 20’s each day so that at least is a bonus – I really need vitamin D – All of us have never been so pasty! Hopefully it will be warm enough to swim a bit.
I am really enjoying my classes at the CLA – my classmates are nowhere near as much fun and as collegial as my first course in September. Maybe because 13 of them are Chinese and only 1 Kiwi! However there is a lot of absenteeism by the Chinese students – in fact on Friday there were only 2 of us who turned up to class – so some intensive tuition for the 2 of us! It was great! The universities have all been on strike here now for 2 weeks, huge disruptions and demonstrations, however it doesn’t really effect the CLA – even though it is the University’s Linguistic Department – it is in a separate part of town and we can still function normally.
Seph had her second skiing day on Friday – she is quite taken with the sport now so it looks like we will be heading to the slopes a bit now! A really good idea to go for 2 or 3 weeks in a row – and a Friday, really lets them build their skills. It was also a mixture of downhill and crosscountry.
Hermione had a bit of a bug and had the last 2 days off school. Went to the chemist and got 2 packs of Nurofen and a big lot of panadol all for €7! No wonder the French are big hypochondriacs – it is so cheap! I can also see why there is a pharmacie on every corner – to keep them all happy!
