Mercredi le 24 decembre – Christmas Eve

The girls adored the 6 village cats which seemed to love the attention - they spent the whole time on our doorstep!

Another spectacular day – can’t believe it is winter! I am pretty sure there will be no white Christmas for us! I thought for a while we definitely would have had one! Spent the day playing badminton, petanque and rummikub. The day went really quickly and I am enjoying the weather. I really think we were vitamin d deficient!

We roasted chestnuts 'marrons' on the fire. Not as good as when you buy them but some were edible! Another really typical french thing to do!

The best part has been lying in front of a great fire and reading books – especially after the children are in bed. It is so tranquil and pleasant. I think the hamlet population is probably 9 and we are 4 of that! A huge surprise was a phone call from the Crawfs – a shame the girls were asleep but it was great to hear their voices and hear about Xmas down under. Thank you!
