Disneyland –
Up to get ready so we don’t miss a minute! Breakfast on the run again, bought as we head to the metro and eaten on the train. Usually consists of pain au chocolat and croissants. A baguette is also thrown in and fruit!
A beautiful day in Paris, sun shining and all looked good.
As we arrived we were surprised by the quietness of the park, not very busy. Yahoo! Couldn’t decide if it was because it was a Monday or this park not as popular.
Headed to the first section and went to get the ‘fast pass’ but they informed us no fastpasses today! Well that certainly defeated the purpose of the system.
First ride was “Rock ‘n’ roller coaster, featuring Aerosmith! As it turned out (again) this was the most intense ride with many inversions and thrusting take offs! Wasn’t sure how Seph was coping through this ride couldn’t hear as music (Aerosmith) played in your headrest. Amazingly she loved it – she could just see where we were going and it was not as dark as other rides. So we went straight back into the line and had about a 2 minute wait.

!
This park was all based on film making and special effects. Next stop was “Armageddon” a display of special effects to make you feel as if you were in a Russian space station and being pulverised by meteorites and it catches fire –HOT!! This was only average – if that and wouldn’t be on our ‘to do’ list again!
Stitch Live – A unique and, fun and interactive show with Stitch. Once again Hermione got picked out to talk to Stitch – he asked her name and repeated it a few times as he talked to her and asked her to be his special friend! She was stoked!
Moteurs – Action! Stunt Show Spectacular. A really noisy show that lasted 50 mins – a bit like Movie World’s Police Academy, but was a bit like James Bond with a hero. Lots of motorbike and car chasing , people on fire, things blowing up etc… It was all done as if on a film set – stunt coordinator talking to us, film directors and it replayed and shown on big screen. Really clever and very exciting. “It was awesome and cool” Hermione’s words!
Crush’s Coaster – Based on “Nemo” and the turtle. We plunged throught the East Australian current aboard a spinning turtle shell. We were in pairs back to back – a great ride after the longest wait of the day -1 hour!
It turned out that the park got busier – we were just right on time others wandered in from Disney Village – many British there. Also lots of people stay 4-7 days at the park and spread it out so I suppose don’t need to be there early to make the most of it.
Studio Tram Tour – On a train and taken around the park to see the behind the scene props. Many things from movies we have seen which made it very real. At one point we stopped and the train started to rock from side to side as if in an earthquake, water simulating floods and explosions were all right at us. You got a little wet and very hot! It then continued on to where the costumes are made for Disney movies – lots on display from Narnia! You could actually see the people sewing and working on costumes – a huge place.

The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror – Drop in for a thrilling elevator ride that plummets faster than the speed of gravity. Wasn’t so sure about this one – I have the potential to get motion sick and before the 2 days at the park I took ‘sealegs’ so my days weren’t ruined by this. (I have made the mistake in the past, of jumping on a rollercoaster first thing in the morning with not much food – probably none- and then felt so awful for the rest of the day.)
As it turned out you certainly ‘lost your stomach’ more than once as it would drop then ascend rapidly, drop again etc. The funny bit is as you come up the elevator doors open up and you can see outside and everyone can hear the screams. From the outside you see these doors opening up in random order - very effective! The actors that take you into the ‘Hollywood Tower Hotel’ and get you organised are very convincing that you are taking your life into your own hands using these elevators, ours even had a wonky eye which helped with the suspense!
We all lived and it was better than I thought – maybe I might try the ‘Big Drop’ next time in Oz!
Animagique – We met a host of Disney characters in a black light show full of classic Disney songs. Very clever and enjoyable.
We then headed back to the Rock’n’roller coaster , the queues were not long – about 10 minutes and had another 2 goes on this to finish off! The park shut at 6:00pm so not as long as they other day and we had only missed a couple of things.
The park was all decorated for Xmas with the lights all on as we left the park, really gave the feeling of festivities and looked like the traditional Northern hemisphere pictures you have seen of Xmas.
We all really enjoyed this park and it would be hard to choose between them if you could only do 1.
If we were to ever do this again or recommend to others - stay at the village – have great packages and allow yourself at least 2 days for each park and maybe a rest day in between. So all those people who stay 5-7 days are lucky. The Disney village also has heaps to do in it!
Train home- getting there a bit earlier than last time – thank goodness! It has been all go – not a moment to rest, very sore feet at the end of each day as you don’t sit down for long anywhere.
Great to talk to Dad on the phone – he sounded great and was full of information. It was nice to wish him a happy birthday – a day early though!
